In Mahjong, collecting sets is the key to success. Similar to card games like gin rummy, the gameplay involves drawing a tile and discarding a tile while aiming to collect sets. In Mahjong, you need to assemble four sets of three tiles and one pair. Sets can be either a sequence of three tiles (known as chow) or three tiles of the same kind (known as pung).

As an online game, Red Mahjong requires an internet connection to play. Luckily, you don't necessarily need a Wifi connection for it to work smoothly; even a slow 3G connection will suffice. Plus, if your connection gets lost, the Red Mahjong app will automatically reconnect you.

It's worth noting that moves in Red Mahjong are timed. If you fail to make a move within the allocated time, the app will make a standard pick-and-discarded move on your behalf. This ensures that the game keeps moving and prevents any unnecessary delays.
